Rincón de la Vieja volcano National Park on 3 Options

Description:

Located 23 kms north of Liberia, it was established as a national park on October 23rd of 1973 and protects over 14,083 hectares (35,200 acres). The highest peak reaches 1916 meters (6,700 feet) above sea level.

This national park is qualified as tropical wet forest with dry transition, even when the annual rainfall averages over 2,500 to 3,000 mm (7 to 9 feet) from May until December, there is also a long dry season well established from January to April.

Giant Ficus trees, several creeks, the seasonal Pailas waterfall (June to December), boiling mud ponds, sulphur steam fumaroles and a great number of birds creates an incredible paradise to explore.

OPTION 1

Hike for 2:30 hrs in Rincón de la Vieja volcano plus a horseback riding to Oropendola Waterfall at Guachipelín Ranch. On this waterfall you can swim.

Hike for 2:30 hrs in Rincón de la Vieja volcano and swim at Llanos de Cortés Waterfall in the afternoon.
